Guides of Iceland is a professional infrastructure tool, not a consumer marketplace. By using this platform, you agree to uphold the standards of the Icelandic tourism industry.

1. The Platform Role

Guides of Iceland provides the technical infrastructure to connect independent guides with travel agencies. We are not a travel agency and do not sell tours directly to consumers.

• No Commissions: We do not take a commission on bookings. The contract is directly between the Guide and the Agency.
• Neutrality: We do not rank guides or sell "featured" spots. Discovery is based on objective criteria (availability, license, language).

2. Guide Code of Conduct

To maintain access to the platform, guides must adhere to the following:

• Availability Discipline: Your calendar must be accurate. If it says you are free, agencies assume you are free.
• Licensing: You must maintain valid certification from the Icelandic Tourist Board.
• Professionalism: Respond to booking requests within 24 hours during business days.

3. Agency Expectations

Agencies using this platform agree to:

• Direct Payment: Settlements are handled directly with the guide or their company.
• Fair Cancellation: Respect the guide’s cancellation terms as stated in their profile.

4. Liability

Guides of Iceland is not a party to any agreement between Guide and Agency and is not liable for the performance of the service.
